Professional soccer K League 1 teams Jeju United and Jeonbuk Hyundai fired off a combined 27 shots on goal but were unable to find a winner.
Jeju and Jeonbuk played to a 0-0 draw in the 29th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2023 at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Wednesday.
It was Jeju’s third consecutive draw (D1, D2). Jeju remained in ninth place with 35 points from nine wins, eight draws and 12 losses.
Jeonbuk, without a win in four matches (three draws), remained in fifth place with 12 W, 7 D, 10 L, and 43 points.
After a scoreless first half, Jeonbuk head coach Dan Petrescu took Hapa Silva off and brought on Song Min-gyu. Song Min-gyu had a chance to score at the start of the second half, but his shot was late and caught in the opponent’s defense.

Jeonbuk’s Moon Sun-min repeatedly missed chances to take the lead. In the 14th minute of the second half, Moon dribbled into the penalty box and fired a right-footed shot, but the ball hit a Jeju defender and went out. On the ensuing corner kick, Moon’s shot flew over the bar. Moon had another chance in the 16th minute after breaking through the Jeju defense, but the ball went straight at Jeju goalkeeper Kim Dong-jun.
Jeonbuk wasted another chance in the 19th minute. Ahn Hyun-beom sent a strong cross to Munjeon after breaking through the flank, but the ball was not closed by the onrushing Park Jae-yong.
With the lack of goals, Petrescu made a change in the midfield in the 24th minute, taking off Boateng and bringing on Amano Jun.
Still, Jeonbuk was unable to score. In the 27th minute, Park Jae-yong received the ball from Song Min-gyu and fired a left-footed shot, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Hoesim’s shot from Song Min-gyu went over the crossbar.
Second half stoppage time Jeonbuk unleashed an all-out attack, but Jeju defenders threw themselves to block it. In the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time, Park Jin-seop’s right-footed mid-range shot went wide of the goal. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
