The national team was frustrated at the threshold of the 2023 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenger Cup final held last month. The dream of advancing to the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) for the first time in six years was shattered by a complete defeat by Bahrain, ranked 77th in the world, in the semifinals.스포츠토토
Recently, the national team boldly excluded top setter Han Seon-seon (Korean Air) and veteran middle blocker Shin Young-seok (KEPCO), and embarked on a generational change. However, through the AVC Challenger Cup, he realized his lack of experience.
Although Han and Shin Young-seok were not called this time, a large number of experienced players joined. Instead of young players such as Kim Myeong-gwan, Park Jun-hyeok, Oh Jae-seong, Jo Jae-young, and Hwang Gyeong-min, Hwang Seung-bin, Na Gyeong-bok, Lee Sang-wook, Kim Gyu-min, and Jeon Kwang-in will join hands and feet.
The national team gathered at the Jincheon National Training Center in North Chungcheong Province from the middle of last month and began training in earnest for about four weeks. After all the preparations, we head to Urmia, Iran, the final battleground of the day.
