Chelsea of the English Premier League (EPL) paid the highest EPL transfer fee ever for the signing of Ecuador national team midfielder Moises Caicedo (22).
Chelsea said on the 15th (Korean time), “We signed an eight-year contract with Caicedo, who played for Brighton & Hove Albion (England). An option to extend for one year was also included in the terms of the contract.”
Caicedo’s transfer fee has not been specifically disclosed. However, according to British locals, Chelsea paid 115 million pounds (approximately 190 billion won) in transfer fees to Brighton, Caicedo’s former team.
With this, Caicedo became the main character of the EPL’s highest transfer fee ever. The previous highest EPL transfer fee was 107 million pounds (approximately 180 billion won) recorded by Enso Fernandez, who left Benfica (Portugal) and joined Chelsea in the winter transfer market in January.먹튀검증
Chelsea will pay a huge amount of 370 billion won for the signing of two midfielders in one year.
Caicedo, who debuted on the European stage when he joined Brighton in February 2021, gradually adapted to the EPL stage.
After adapting, Caicedo established himself as a top defensive midfielder in the EPL. Not only did he play the role of his primary defensive net with his vigorous activity, but his forward passing was also highly evaluated.
Caicedo has become a target for big clubs to the extent that Arsenal in the transfer market last winter and Liverpool along with Chelsea in the transfer market this summer show interest.
After completing the transfer, Caicedo said, “I’m happy to join a big club like Chelsea. It’s a dream come true.”
